"A very comfortable and well-equipped gîte from which to explore the region. We visited Angers and saw the Apocalypse Tapestry, Saumur on Monday (when all the shops were shut) and again Friday - what a difference! The place was humming with people and there was a lovely atmosphere. The château at Villandry was memorable, both outside and in. Thank you Alan and Lesley for such a comfortable place to come back to every night. Oh, and we mustn't forget the visit to the wine cave you organised for us. We have mementos of that to take home with us!!"

"La Bribonnière was everything we hoped for and more. It was a wonderful base to explore the area.
A few helpful tips: super to have the BBQ which worked well feeding four adults. Supermarkets - Super U at Longué and Mazé have everything you might need and cheapest fuel. Fresh fish and meat available at both. Restaurants: Val de Loire in Les Rosiers excellent as was Pizzeria Villa des Roses. Crêperie at Le Pitolay is also superb for galettes and crêpes.
Boat trip - go to Saint Mathurin sur Loire. Château de Brézé - just south of Saumur, very interesting because it combines a castle and a troglodyte village. Saumur Château - only has limited opening and tour due to major reconstruction but the Orangerie restaurant in the grounds is good for lunch, but book as soon as you get there. Doué Zoo - make a visit even if you 'don't do zoos' - it is a model of conservation and how to support endangered species around the world.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and touring in our 1929 MGs."
